Ocean Eyes: An Immersive Concert Experience for Billie Eilish
Musical Artist: Billie Eilish
For this project, I chose Billie Eilish as my virtual client due to her versatility as a musician. Her unique and multifaceted musical style, especially her early works, provides a rich foundation for designing an immersive concert experience. The juxtaposition of dark, haunting tones with lighter, more ethereal melodies in her music sparked my creative direction.
Design Concept
One of the key inspirations for this stage design comes from Billie Eilish's iconic track "Ocean Eyes," which evokes imagery of water and depth. While natural elements like the ocean are not a recurring theme across all of her music, "Ocean Eyes" specifically led me to explore the fluidity and depth of water as both a visual and emotional metaphor. In this design, I incorporated water textures and dynamic lighting to create an immersive stage experience that reflects the emotional resonance and layered depth of her music.

Water & Light Integration
The primary stage design centers around the concept of water as a flowing, ever-changing medium. I employed projected light and reflective surfaces to simulate water textures across the stage and audience areas, immersing the crowd in a deep, fluid environment. The shifting light creates a dynamic atmosphere that mirrors the ebb and flow of Billie’s music.
This project, Ocean Eyes, translates the emotional depth and stylistic range of Billie Eilish’s music into a physical space that engages the audience on multiple levels. By combining water texture, light, and reflective materials, the design reflects both the fluidity of her sound and the emotive power of her performances, creating a concert experience that feels both intimate and expansive.
Immersive Audience Experience
The stage setup was designed not only to highlight the performer but to involve the audience directly. By blending the boundaries between the performer and the spectators using reflective surfaces, lighting, and layered water-like effects, the concert becomes an immersive, all-encompassing sensory experience.
